Santa Coat Cup Cozy

WaterMark_2019-11-17-16-25-20The Santa coat cup cozy is here in plenty of time to use it before Christmas!

I had this cute idea for a seasonal cozy and it turned out so well.

This pattern is beginner friendly and quick to make!
Materials needed:
small amount of red worsted weight yarn
even smaller amount of white worsted weight yarn
I used Loops and Threads Impeccable in red hot and white.  I was actually torn between this bright read and a more cherry red.
5.5mm hook
2 x 15mm black buttons (or whatever size you prefer)
black thread and sewing needle
yarn needle

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sl st  – slip stitch
sts  – stitches

Finished size is approx. 4.5in w x 3in h when laid flat.
Gauge is not necessary for this.

Round 1 – with the red yarn ch 27, to make a circle sl st the last and first ch together. Make sure you don’t twist the ch.  Ch 1 (does not count as a st here and throughout) hdc into each ch, sl st to first hdc to complete the round.  27 sts
Rounds 2-6 – ch1, hdc into each st, sl st to first hdc to complete the round, 27 sts
Fasten off the red yarn after round 6.  I prefer to attach a new colour by tying a knot, you can use whichever method you prefer.
Round 7 – attach white yarn and ch 1, sc into each st, sl st to first sc, 27 sts
fasten off white yarn.
Round 8 – you will now do a row of sc round the bottom of the cozy (see photo below) attach white yarn at the same place you started with the red.  ch 1, sc into the bottom loop of each beginning ch.  Fasten off yarn and weave in all ends.
To attach the buttons I lined them up so the top was just below round 6 and the bottom was just above round 1.  Fasten off the thread and you’re done!

You may make and sell a finished item, please link back to this pattern.

I hope you enjoy this!

Happy crafting
